REFERENCE : Rivière du Japon Japanese panoramic wallpaper created from a work painted in ink on gold paper, “Chrysanthemums by a Stream” (six-panel screen). The pictorial style of this screen is associated with Ogata Kōrin (1658-1716). The highly stylized background highlights carefully arranged floral compositions of chrysanthemums. The golden waves of the river are reminiscent of traditional Edo period kimono patterns.
